Frank Butler opened the doors of the factory in an abandoned aircraft facility in 1969. Since our first review of a Catalina, we’ve been making the point that the company has grown to its position as the largest producer of boats in the country by consistently offering boats that meet the needs of a price conscious marketplace. Designs have typically carried high-aspect ratio mainsails and large overlapping genoas that powered the boats at reasonable speeds while offering owners comfortable accommodations below decks. Plenty of upgrades and ready to go. Â
