The De Kleers were known for building the Fraser line of yachts, and they also built the Endurance 35’s, which were designed by Peter Ibold. Both Fraser & Endurance owners know their boats have an exceptionally solid hull of pure fiberglass. Indeed, the De Kleers’ had a reputation for ‘overbuilding’ which resulted in thick, strong hulls.
The Endurance 35 is an aft cockpit, cutter rigged sloop with a full keel and keel hung rudder. In total, 86 Endurance 35’s were built and they continue to be regarded as safe, long distance passage makers who have made their way from Vancouver BC to destinations around the world.
This Endurance 35 is being sold by its second owner. The first owner had it for 10 years, but was never able to finish the commissioning. The current owner purchased it, had the boat rigged, finished the interior work and it was first launched in 1996. In 2014 it was re-powered with a new Westerbeke inboard diesel engine which has low hours and shows incredibly well. This vessel is being sold today with a nice inventory, including wind vane self steering, furling headsail, hard dodger and canvas enclosure, radar, diesel stove and a recent windlass with a wireless remote for easy shorthanded operation.
